Life’s a beach

Of course everyone is aware of Weymouth’s stunning golden sand but not all are aware of some of the mind-blowing structures created using the famous sand. Sandworld in Weymouth welcome some of the best sand sculptures from around the globe to create artist masterpieces the defy logic. With past themes including Best of British and the Olympics it really is something that needs to be seen to be believed!

Bars and Restaurants

Weymouth is awash with over 450 bars and restaurants in and around the town centre alone. All just a few minutes walk from eithers of our houses. Please feel free to contact us for any recommendations, but to be honest, we’ve only tried a fraction ourselves due to the sheer number in the area!

Trail your own way

If getting out and exploring your local surroundings is more your kind of thing then why not take part in a self-guided treasure hunt? Treasure Trails Dorset allows you to explore Weymouth in a fun and imaginative way. Follow the clues around the town on buildings and monuments and discover the location of the missing treasure.

Life under the waves

Weymouth Sea Life and Adventure Park is always a big hit with families visiting Weymouth. Learn more of life under the waves and the species that call the sea their home. Walk through the under the ocean tunnel; enjoy thrilling rides and even take part in feeding sessions!

Holidays in Weymouth aren’t just about building sandcastles on the beach, there’s so many other activities on offer here you won’t know when to stop.

The sheer beauty of the area means there’s an abundance of outdoor activities to get to grips with from walking to cycling to treasure hunting to fishing.

Be at one with nature

Take in the sights, sounds and beautiful wildlife at one of Weymouth’s RSPB reserve. RSPB Radipole Lake and RSPB Lodmoor offer the chance to get up close and personal with the local wildlife with regular participatory events for young and old to enjoy.

If you’re a keen rambler, a must do is to walk a stretch of the South West Coast Path, where the views across to Portland on a fresh sunny day will astound you.

If you’re more of a stroller, fear not, we have plenty of trails for you whether it’s an amble along the Rodwell Trail or around one of the beautiful RSPB nature reserves.

Discover rich heritage and history

Weymouth & Portland are home to an abundance of fascinating sites dating back from the Jurassic era right up to the modern day. The Weymouth & Portland Heritage website provides details of 12 historical hidden gems that should certainly be visited while you discover Weymouth & Portland.

Make sure you visit the fantastic Nothe Fort which won the Visit England award for Small Visitor Attraction of the Year 21/22.  Located at the entrance to Weymouth Harbour, the Fort offers excellent 360 degree views across Dorset’s Jurassic Coast. Here you can discover a maze of underground passages, a museum of the Fort’s history, parade ground, impressive guns positioned high on the ramparts, and fun trails to keep the children busy.

Sandsfoot Castle is also a great place to visit.  Abondoned by the military in 1665, the Castle has become an iconic ruin overlooking Portland Harbour for the past 350 years. 

On yer bike!

Cycling is another wonderful way to take in the scenery and cycle routes in Weymouth cover a variety of distances and abilities.

These newly designed trails comprise of three fun, family friendly and largely flat cycle trails of 6, 8.5 and 17 miles, suitable for all ages and abilities.

For the more experienced cyclist, there are longer and more challenging routes available. Feel the burn whilst seeing some of Weymouth’s best sights.
